Bovonic was founded in Tauranga in 2021 to address one of the most costly and persistent animal health challenges in global dairy farming—mastitis. Its flagship product, QuadSense, is an in-line milk sensor that can be installed in any dairy shed and uses proprietary sensing technology with advanced detection algorithms to identify mastitis at the quarter level in its earliest stages. By enabling early detection, QuadSense reduces losses, improves herd welfare, and minimises unnecessary antibiotic use, directly benefiting farmers and the environment. With strong farmer demand, Bovonic has established a new production facility near Tauranga and commenced commercial roll-out in New Zealand, with international expansion planned. Through its focus on practical, scalable innovation, Bovonic is well-positioned to deliver meaningful productivity, animal health, and sustainability gains to the global dairy sector.
